Shitake Mushroom

Most of the vegan dishes I prepare at home need mushroom. And I cant deny that most of the time, I can’t find fresh ingredients. So I use either the canned version, or dried version.

I usually use this brand (This is not a paid advertisement) : Sunbest.

It is much easier to prepare vs the dried shitake mushroom as I no longer have to soak the mushrooms. I just have to open the can and slice the shrooms and cook!

Why I don’t impose veganism on my daughter. (yet)?

A few months ago, my husband and I became vegans. My 2-year old daughter is not yet a vegan. Some may frown to this fact but I cant impose veganism on her yet.

I admit, we still feed her with formula milk. She will turn 3 soon and I plan to stop giving her formula milk. Not to worry though, I will not make the drastic changes without consulting her pedia and a vegan nutritionist (still looking for one).

Though she is not yet vegan, I admire my daughter’s love for animals. She is the one who reminds us that fish, chicken and pig and all other animals she sees being cooked, are “wawa” or “kawawa”. She never liked consuming meat products. She loves corn, kangkong, and tofu!

I will update you all how her transition goes soon!

Good Food Sundays at Mandala Park

Good Food Sundays is a weekly Sunday market for local goods featuring vegan suppliers and food options. It is located at Mandala Park: 1552 Shaw Boulevard Mandaluyong. I live in the North so I am not familiar where this is though I worked in this area for a long time. So, when it doubt, WAZE! We used waze and just typed in Mandala Park.

Very good timing it was as last Sunday was also our The Vegan Grocer shopping day! Tadah! It is less than 2 km away from Mandala Park. 😉 We hit 2 birds with one stone… (though we won’t do it literally in real life)

There’s a good number of people at the Sunday market when we arrived 30 past 2 in the afternoon (only one table was available, for us!). Aside from having late lunch-early dinner at the Sunday market, my unique vegan find that day was Ritual PH’s gugo shampoo bar. I checked it out, bought one to try and promised to review the product.

Right now I have used the shampoo bar 3 times already. I have a bleached turquoise hair and any product can easily make my hair dry. In reality, I really need to use conditioner whatever my shampoo is. My concern was, I have mild dandruff and hair fall. As of writing, I noticed improvement with my scalp and have yet to see its effects on my hair volume/ hair loss.
