Dicovery of the week! A sprinkle of this seasoning powder to any dish makes a lot of difference. If you know how to use magic sarap, then it is basically the same ingredient but this is vegan!
I bought this from The Vegan Grocer Ph
Here’s another vegan snack you can munch on while watching movies/ Netflix!
Here’s a recent discovery at the supermarket! If you miss the Lucky me pancit canton, this is the answer!
Had to buy another pack last weekend because I love pili nuts.. and I love muscovado sugar. Just to have something to munch on when I have sudden hunger pangs!
You may try this too! Available at The Vegan Grocer Ph.
Ever wonder what seaweed I use to top our rice meals here at home?
This is what I use:
Kimnori Korean Crispy Seaweed in Chili Flavor. This one is vegan. The BBQ flavor is also vegan. Their seafood flavor is NOT vegan so be careful when buying seaweed snacks.
Most of the vegan dishes I prepare at home need mushroom. And I cant deny that most of the time, I can’t find fresh ingredients. So I use either the canned version, or dried version.
I usually use this brand (This is not a paid advertisement) : Sunbest.
It is much easier to prepare vs the dried shitake mushroom as I no longer have to soak the mushrooms. I just have to open the can and slice the shrooms and cook!
I have been to The Vegetarian Kitchen 3 times and I think it is just about the right time to write a full review of this vegetarian vegan restaurant.
The Vegetarian Kitchen is located at 62B Mother Ignacia Ave., Brgy. Paligsahan
Quezon City, Philippines 1103. You may find the map here.
They are located right in front of St Mary’s QC. I gave them 3 out of 5 stars because they do not have their own parking space. Every time we go to TVK, we had to park at the side of the street – which I find dangerous and it’s very dark there during night time.

Their space looks small from the outside but when you get inside this restaurant, you’ll see around 10 tables. The place is clean and they have this very nice and relaxing vibe.
I do not have photos of the interiors but you’ll find this time of the year, they have their Christmas decors up already. 🙂
We have spent around 2 thousand pesos for our meals. (family of 4). We had 3 rice meals, 2 starters and a slice of cake. It is quite pricey compared to others, but I believe the taste and experience gave justice to our 2k. 😉
I gave them 4 out of 5 vegan hearts, only because I find their TVP (the veggie meat they used in the adobo) a bit bland and nothing very special about their adobo. (which was their special when we went there)
Crispy Tofu SkinÂ
This is what we always order when we go there. Always wow! and I wanted to order another serving!
Caldereta
This is what I always order with rice. I love olives so I am surprised they put olives in their caldereta. 🙂 This is vegan.
Vegan Chocolate Cake
My daughter loves chocolate cake and their cake is yummy! 🙂
We were so full already we took a bite to taste and it was awesome!
Longanisa Nachos!Â
This was a surprise for us… We enjoyed this starter as it is a perfect combination of crispy nachos, vegan cheese sauce, vegan longanisa bits, and the microgreens!
We will surely be back for this aside from their crispy tofu skin!
Adobo sa Gata
This was their special that night we went there, but as I said, I think it is not extraordinary or special. Just the typical adobo sa gata and not very tasty.
Overall, I am giving TVK 4 out of 5 vegan hearts because of the following
We have been to Wabi Sabi Tomas Morato a couple of times. I have posted and featured the food but not really a full review. So here it goes!
Wabi Sabi is a vegetarian-vegan noodle house in Tomas Morato. To go, click here to view map.
I gave them 4/5 vegan hearts for the location since the place is quite dark, and they do not have enough space in case they have a lot of customer. (I think it can only sit up to 20 customers)
The building has good parking space, which is a plus.

I gave them 3/5 vegan hearts because 2 out of 5 times we ate there, we were seated outside. It was hot and uncomfortable to eat there.
Just my opinion but others may find it cute and cozy.

The bowl of ramen will cost you more than 200 pesos here. I gave them 3 out of 5 stars because I find it too expensive. But if you are willing to spend more than a thousand bucks for food for your family of 4, then I think their prices are okay.
I gave them 3 out of 5 vegan hearts. First, not everything in their menu is vegan. You will need to tell them right away that you are vegan so they can take the eggs out.
3 out of 5 times, they got the ramen soup just right and the other times, it’s either too salty or sometimes, mehh.. I guess they will need to work on their consistency with their food.
Overall, I can say I am willing to come back to Wabi Sabi whenever we crave for Ramen.
I just hope they improve on the food so all of the other factors won’t matter (I am willing to compromise the parking, ambiance, and the price – just give me super yummy food!)
